Glacier Bay is een groot Nationaal Park (13.000 km2) bestaande uit wildernis, bergen, ijsvelden, flora en fauna (beren, wolven, lynxen, orka's, bultruggen). Er leiden geen wegen naar het park. U kunt er komen per veerboot/cruise of per vliegtuig.
Anchorage is de grootste stad van Alaska, maar niet de hoofdstad (Juneau). Het is de toegangspoort tot avontuur en activiteiten in dit deel van de wereld.
Denali (voorheen bekend als Mt. McKinley) is de hoogste berg in Noord-Amerika.
Denali National Park, een internationaal biosfeerreservaat, biedt een grote verscheidenheid aan wilde dieren, met name grizzlyberen en elanden. Een groot deel van dit grote park is ontoegankelijk en heeft geen enkele weg.
