Bukhara, ook aan de oude zijderoute, is een woestijnstad met veel grote gebouwen in het historische centrum zoals moskeeën en madrasa's.

Samarkand

Samarkand (6)

Samarqand is een van de oudste continu bewoonde steden in Centraal-Azië. De locatie maakte het een belangrijke stop op de zijderoute tussen China en de Middellandse Zee, waardoor Samarkand een van de grootste steden van Centraal-Azië was.

Khiva

Khiva (5)

Khiva is een andere interessante stad in het westen van Oezbekistan. Itchan Kala in Khiva was de eerste site in Oezbekistan die op de UNESCO Werelderfgoedlijst stond (1991).

Tashkent

Tashkent (5)

Tasjkent is de hoofdstad van Oezbekistan. Het staat bekend om zijn vele musea en de mix van moderne en Sovjet-architectuur. Vergeet het metrostation niet met verschillende kunst in elk station (vergelijkbaar met Moskou).
