Top Destinations in Iceland.

Below are our most visited cities, destinations and national parks in Iceland. Click on the city for more details of the destination.

Reykjavik

Reykjavik

Capital of Iceland, Reykjavik is still a small city. The houses are mostly made of wood and very colorful. The church is the main attraction in a country where nature means everything. You will - of course - be able to bath in one of the natural hot springs and choose to keep your cloth on (or not).

Gullfoss

Gullfoss

Gullfoss means "Golden Waterfall" and it is indeed a great view. One of the nicest waterfalls in Iceland.

Thingvellir

Thingvellir

Þingvellir was the site of the annual parliament of Iceland from 930AD till in 1798 AD. It is really country site, part of the Golden Circle.

Skogafoss

Skogafoss

The Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland with a width of 25 metres and a drop of 60 m.

Akureyri

Akureyri

Vatnajökull National Park

Vatnajökull National Park

Vatnajökull National Park is one of three national parks in Iceland and encompasses all of the huge Vatnajökull glacier and extensive surrounding areas featuring rivers, glacial ice, volcanic and geothermal activity. It is a World Heritage Site.

Goðafoss

Goðafoss

The Godafoss, the waterfall of the Gods, is located just North of Akureyri,

Myvatn

Myvatn

Mývatn (*mosquito lake*) is a small lake situated in an area of active volcanism in the north of Iceland, near Krafla volcano. The lake was created by a large basaltic lava eruption 2300 years ago, and the surrounding landscape is dominated by volcanic landforms, including lava pillars, fumaroles and hot mud pools.
